Wonder Woman Your Career: our new online career development course

Firstly, we’d like to thank you for coming with us on the We Are All Wonder Women journey. Let us express our deepest gratitude for the privilege of allowing us into your life.

Our journey to establishing We Are All Wonder Women has been long and circuitous. We’ve come here through very different journeys. Nadine went to university as a mature student and then worked up through successive roles to an amazing career in international nature conservation with UN Environment. Eugenie started her career in the typical way studying at university and then working in various roles in nature conservation, building up a broad set of skills and experiences. She now has a fantastic role working for four international NGOs while studying part-time for an Executive MBA at the University of Cambridge. 

Through our careers, we have been motivated by our passion for the environment yet we’re often overwhelmed with the huge amount of work that is needed in this sector. We came to the realisation that building our non-science skills and experience has had the most impact in our careers. Our friendship grew out of our shared love of everything self-help! Between us, we’ve read a huge number of self-help books, attended courses in person and online, and applied and tested these new skills to our work and personal lives.

Together we’ve reflected on the journeys we’ve taken to build our confidence and let our authentic selves shine. We’ve started to share some of these insights through We Are All Wonder Women and have come to realise that there is a real need for a place to bring together all our collective knowledge and experience. A place where we can share our lessons from over 40 years of career development with fellow women in conservation. We’ve tried and tested hundreds of career development strategies, some amazingly successful and some amazingly unsuccessful!

We want you to follow in our footsteps to a fantastic career in conservation. But one of our frustrations is that a) many of these books, articles and online courses are male-focused, and b) there wasn’t anything specifically tailored to our sector, the environment and conservation sector, that we care so passionately about.

For that reasons, and following amazing feedback on our articles and emails from our fellow Wonder Women, we’ve spent the last 12 months putting together the ‘Wonder Woman Your Career: Online Career Development Course’ for women in the environment sector.

The course contains videos, exercises and downloadable materials designed to allow you to gain clarity on your career direction and goals. This includes mapping out a journey towards those goals and having a clear set of actionable next steps. By the end of this course you will feel confident, relaxed, secure, and balanced. Like a snowball effect, growing your confidence and getting clear on your career goals, vision and impact will catalyse a shift-change in your career and reputation.

Our course includes five cycles with mindset and soft-skills (or real-skills as Seth Godin puts it!). Each Cycle is packed with lessons and activities as well as tangible outcomes such as an updated LinkedIn profile, cover letter, a five-year life vision and strategy to achieve it. You’ll learn our tested techniques to grow your confidence and raise your profile at work, and forge a clear path for you to step up as an inspirational leader in nature conservation and the environment sector.
