Negative self-talk can be crippling and make us feel terrible. It's something that many people deal with on a daily basis, to some extent or another. So what do you do when you start to feel the negativity creeping in, and the self-doubt takes over? We have some coping strategies here to help you beat your own negative self-talk:
We all like to think of ourselves as inherently good. Sometimes we do things that don’t quite achieve that, but we use qualifiers such as 'I'm having a bad day' or 'He/she deserved it’ etc. That way our ego isn’t damaged and we can carry on in the safe knowledge that we’ll act like a good person next time.
You've had the interview for your dream job and you think you did pretty well. That is, until you get the call - ‘Thank you for your application, but you have not been selected’.
