Are you gentle with yourself? It is so much easier to send love out than to send love in and love ourselves. Yet this is where our self-confidence and our sense of self-worth starts. If we don’t love or respect ourselves, how can we expect others to?
Sheryl Sandberg aptly describes our career trajectories as Jungle Gyms and not Career Ladders in her book Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead Our career paths to date very much reflect this. Our job changes have not always been upwards in a neat ladder way and we have benefited hugely from this.
I had a discussion with a friend recently who didn’t want to seem boastful about her good fortune. Her good fortune was also a bit stressful but she didn’t want to complain. Gosh - what a lot of bottling-up!
You are beautiful. You are strong. You are resilient. You are enough. Trust in yourself. Listen to your inner voice. Listen to your heart. Listen to your gut. They will take you in the right direction. All of the answers are within you.
Is there an epidemic in nature conservation?
An epidemic where everybody works all of the time? An epidemic where you must reply to emails at weekends, evenings, while on holidays, or while at an important conference? An epidemic that is eating away at our personal lives, at our sense of perspective, at our core values? We can solve a lot of problems with money. Also, when we take care of ourselves, we have a chance to help others and the planet. How can we change the world and save the planet if we’re broke?! While we may not have gone into nature conservation to make money, it’s certainly needed in order to look after ourselves and our families, and it’s essential to the running of our NGOs and implementing conservation activities.

We live in a consumer world. Consuming physical clutter. Consuming social media. Consuming food. It is overconsumption. Overconsumption that is destroying our environment, our bodies, and our minds. Hmmm… is this an exaggeration? Probably not!
I was introduced to the concept of domino goals by Ann Wilson author of The Wealth Chef: Recipes to Make Your Money Work Hard, So You Don't Have To This concept has helped me achieve my goals much faster and more efficiently.
